Creating Digital Products to Sell Online and Expand Your Business
As the owner of a coworking and event space, I value real life connections and being able to experience events through several of my senses. Yes, I’m a hugger! However, this isn’t always possible so it’s important to know how to take your IRL business into the digital world. If you don’t have a digital component to your company, depending on your industry, you could be leaving money on the table. You could also be closing your business off to potential customers just because they don’t know you exist. The digital marketplace opens you up to several possibilities, new people and a global marketplace.
The digital products that you can choose to sell don’t have to be super complicated. There are several options for you to choose from. Some of the most popular digital products are the simplest. Digital products don’t come with huge start up costs or large investments and can be a great way to make passive income. Your biggest loss is the time it takes you to make the products.
E-books are the most popular digital product to sell online. They can be relatively easy to produce and are easy to distribute to your customer base.
Courses and e-learning modules are a great way to teach your customers something useful. Especially for visual learners. You can be a person that loves to be in front of the camera or you can make beautiful slides and work from those. There’s not one specific way to create a course. Get creative, do it YOUR way.
Templates are a digital solution for those that are great at designing files that others can easily customize. You can create media kits, proposals, pitch decks, resumes, e-books, workbooks, planners and social media graphics that others can use to get closer to their own goals.
Workbooks and Planners are another option. These can be easily designed just as you would an e-book but would need to be structured differently, of course.
When designing your digital products, you can use programs created for DIY’ers like Canva, Adobe Spark and Keynote. If you have more sophisticated skills, Photoshop, Indesign or Illustrator may be better options for you.
When it comes to creating great digital products, it’s all about creating value for your customers. Think of the things your customers want, need or are missing from the products that are already out there. Come up with a solution that fills in the gaps and create a digital option.
So, tell me, what digital products will you start selling?
